I can't believe it's been almost two months since I updated this thing. There have been plenty of things I've meant to post, but somehow it just doesn't seem to happen. Oh well.

Anyways, I figure I should at least post something about where I'll be for the next few months (and my copy of Dragon Quest 8 is being borrowed for the evening, so I can't play that instead of posting).

I was originally scheduled to be in San Francisco through December, but the project I was on is coded, the critical user acceptance tests have been passed, and client personnel have been trained sufficiently to take over maintenance, so I'll now be done here tomorrow. My flight home is booked for Friday; I haven't decided yet whether to go home on Thursday or stick around and be a tourist for a day.

Pending final approval, next week I'll be in Chicago for training. The week after that I'll start in Charlotte, where I'll be until sometime in February or March when they're ready to start a new project in San Francisco. At least, that's the plan right now. It will be very weird not to have my 12 hours per week of reading on planes, and I suspect I won't be keeping up nearly as well with The Economist, New Scientist, The New York Review of Books, or the bunches of other magazines I get. But it will be nice to get home before 11pm on Fridays and be able to leave when I want on Sunday night rather than worrying about catching a 7:06pm flight.

For Christmas, I'll be in Milwaukee, with a side trip to Albuquerque for a cousin's wedding on the 27th, and then home for New Year's Weekend (4 days in a row at home! Woohoo!)

Hey there, stranger :) Glad to hear you won't have to abandon San Fran permanently, and I hope I'll run into you sometime this holiday season!

Howdy :)

It's looking like New Year's Weekend is going to be my next real chance to get out and see anybody around the Triangle; if you'll be around then, we'll have to plan something.

You should drop me an email when you're in Chi-town; we'll get a drink, or something.

Right now it looks like the night that will be most open is tomorrow (Monday) assuming my flight gets into O'Hare as scheduled at 6:44pm. I'll probably hop the blue line down to Adams to check in to the hotel, and then I'll be looking for dinner.

Ack! Tonight is Not Good for me; I have both of my classes this evening, until 9:00. That, and I'm just sick enough that going out after is probably not a great idea. Any chance of lunch or dinner another time this week? I work downtown, on N. Michigan; where are you going to be at?

I'll also be right downtown (staying at Clark & Adams, and the office is 500 W. Madison). I think I'm booked for dinners all week, but I'll know tomorrow if I can get out for lunch one day.

OK, according to the final revision of the schedule, we get from 12:15-1:15 Wednesday and from 11:45-12:45 Thursday for lunch; either of those times work for you?

OK. How about tomorrow 12:15, at Marshall Fields' Walnut Room on State? It's about halfway between us. If you take Madison east and turn north on State, it'll be a block up on your right. The restaurant is on the seventh floor.

Sound good?

That'll work. Hopefully you'll get this in time; LJ's comment notification failed to let me know you'd responded, so I just noticed it. I'll probably be there around 12:25.

I'll be staying at the Club Quarters hotel at Clark & Adams (our office is at 500 W. Madison, in the Citibank building). Which is conveniently close to every L line, if there should happen to be any after-dinner gatherings this week.

Hey, you managed to pick one of my favorite books as your username, and one of my least favorite paintings as your icon! Wow!

Oof. Well, it's one of my rarer gifts popping up once again, to be able to pull people in opposite directions. SD is also one of my favorite books (obviously) - both so funny and so sad.

Well, I should be back in March or thereabouts. Anyways, I'll post when/if it happens.
