Went with deftly, sapphira_altair and fungi to the free sneak preview of Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd tonight at the Rialto. It was pretty good, and extremely faithful to the original, though I did miss Bryn Terfel's voice as Mr. Todd (as heard in Lyric Opera's production a few years back). Johnny Depp isn't a bad singer, but he's definitely not Terfel.

Afterward we went to Tir Na Nog to have delicious meat pies.

Yep, this was just a one-time sneak preview. I think it opens for real this Friday.
